Laminar airflow room
Laminar airflow rooms or clean zones are special areas to protect products from dangerous fumes, pollutants, microorganisms and vapors released during the researching process of the examining product. Object, material or harmful components that enter the work area from the environment stay in this area. Clean zones are used in pharmaceutical manufacturing, hospital labs, production of optical elements, blood transfusion stations or in the laboratory that work with different types of harm objects.
An airflow room can have the required number of doors for operator’s access or for transporting a product with which the operator works. The cleaning inside the working area of laminar airflow room is provided by squeezing out fumes and pollutions with a flow of unidirectional cleaned air; it is an air piston effect. Air flow guiding elements made of transparent hardened glass on the perimeter of the ceiling or from metal panels with a special surface coating resistant to disinfectants and UV irradiation. Fencing structures do not reach the floor level; there is a free square there. All joints of the construction are sealed with chemically resistant rubber or sealed with a polyurethane sealant designed for use in clean rooms.
There are two main types of clean zones:
Movable clean zones
Clean zones can be manufactured in the mobile mode, when it is possible to move it inside the laminar flow room, where it is installed. It is necessary to check the tightness of the seal of the filters after moving. It is important for the protection and for the right work of al systems.
Stationary clean rooms
Clean zones can be made in a stationary version, when their structures are attached to the floor, ceiling, walls or other power structures of the room. The stationary clean room can be overbuilt or integrated into various specialized process equipment. It is necessary to take into account where it will be located inside the room and to check ventilation system.
